Hi Erin-honey is a great food, don't get me wrong and yes using your local honeys is a great way to acclimate your immune system to seasonal allergies through the induction of oral tolerance. However, Americans are so "sweet, sweet, sweet" driven that they just need to work on learning to enjoy foods without so much sweet all the time. We have to enjoy all five flavors to have optimal health. Salty, sweet, bitter, pungent...and of course sweet.

If we all could eat more bitter and pungent foods it would balance all the salty and sweet we eat, and we would no longer be a nation riddled with high blood pressure, heart disease, and diabetes.

Hi Barbara- I came up with the idea because personally when I am starving I can no longer think and will just grab and eat the closest thing I see. The Zero Zone prevents a lot of that unnecessasry drama!

I had to squelch that old dieting trick to drink a big glass of water before meals, because frankly it is just really bad for proper digestion...good for dieting. Bad for digestion!

Hi Timothy- yes the hummus is an absolute staple. That food is the food of the gods in my opinion...Those are some of my favorite teas to help unwind. Have fun with it! Hope you enjoy :D

Great advice! Lately I have been trying to "load up" on veggies ala salads and such before I actually throw down with a meal. That way, if I'm even still hungry, I will only eat a little bit of high calorie fattening stuff.

I'm also hypoglycemic, I always take a spoonful of peanut butter once a day, at least. Does the trick...plus it's yummy.

Dr. Nicole,

Zero Zone Foods...what a great idea. Thanks for all the hints for foods to include.

BTW: I did not know that drinking water before you eat dilutes our stomach acid.

Every time I come here, I learn something new. You're awesome!

We have cherry tomatoes, cut celery always on the ready with organic raw peanut butter. The hummus is a staple. Plus the raw almonds, raisins, walnuts, organic dark chocolate pieces, in a bowl. Yummy.

I'll have to try your tea suggestions. :-)
